Cognitive HealthTech has been named Start Up of the Year at the North East Business Awards, marking a major milestone in the company's development.

The award follows two years of building the business, supported by significant investment, grant funding, research collaboration and the continued development of its cognitive-health technology.

Co-Founder and CEO Victoria Burnip attended the awards alongside Co-Founder Professor Christian Morgner, representing the team behind Cognitive HealthTech.

The recognition builds on the company's earlier success in the Teesside stage of the awards and reflects the progress CHT has made from early research and concept development towards a growing healthtech business.

Cognitive HealthTech is developing technology designed to identify subtle changes in cognitive performance over time, with the ambition of helping people and healthcare professionals understand cognitive change earlier and more personally.

Victoria said the award was a proud moment for the company and recognition of the work, investment and research that has gone into turning the original idea into reality.

The win adds another significant milestone to Cognitive HealthTech's growing track record as the company continues its research, product development and healthcare engagement.

A growing North East healthtech story

Cognitive HealthTech has been developed within the North East's research, healthcare and innovation ecosystem, working alongside academic, clinical and innovation partners as the technology progresses.

Winning Start Up of the Year provides further recognition of that journey, and of the company's ambition to make a meaningful difference in cognitive and brain health.
